Ibanez Swirl-Painted Guitars....

Well, howdy, folks! I haven't had time to post for awhile, I'm finally back! However, this post is mostly for the benefit of Darin. These are some pics of the swirl-painted guitars I told you about, Darin.
The process is a little unusual. First, you get a large tub of water. Then , you put some sort of chemical (borax(?), if my memory serves me correctly) in the water to break up the surface tension. Then you pour some different colors of paint on top of the water, swirl it around, and dunk the guitar body! Needless to say, no two guitars are exactly the same. Cool!!!! Maybe some day I'll feel rich enough to own one. Unfortunately, though, probably not for a LONG time.
First, a green marble-like swirled Ibanez JEM....
Next a much more colorful Ibanez Universe 7-string. Actually, the Ebay auction I swiped the picture from claimed that it was a JEM, but I'm pretty sure it's a Universe.
And, the back of the same guitar....
And another, slightly brighter-colored Universe 7-string.
Well, what do you think? I guess not everyone shares my taste for garish, pointy-headstock electric guitars from the '80's, but I think they're cool. I sometimes browse Ebay and save pictures of some of my favorites. Can I whet your appetite for some more pictures????
